*Characters/Syntax/Design*

Copy paste into a notepad file and save... this is not a script.
Interduction:
I do not consider this to be a script, but more a chance to try and learn how IRC can be
used to make fun things to add to scripts to personalize a users mIRC.I will try to
explain things as simpley as possible and if things just don't seen that easy then at
least have fun with the characters below.

#1.Basics of colors and syntax:

Help files on mIRC are great and tutorials for scripting are also great ways to learn, but
sometimes they are bland and lack the ability to explain things that even a "NOOB" could
understand... so here goes :)

Most ppl that have and/or are using mIRC know the simple things like bringing up the
"colors-Box" by pressing (Ctrl+k) choosing the color desired and then typing in your
message in the text bar at the bottom and pressing the enter key and watching everything
appear in the chosen color.

Syntax- ( ) Is placed at the beginning of all new colors to be used.

EXAMPLE: 9¯¯¯º This would turn the characters( ¯¯¯º ) light green on the color code chart
and would have that HOT NEON color..awesome!!!

HINT: Did you know that by adding double syntax of ( ) and then the color number that
some colors appear brighter than just using one before the number.

Also when choosing a "Primary color" ( which would be the first or single number ) for
your message for a channel you can also add a "Secondary color" which would add a back-
ground color behind the "Primary number".

EXAMPLE: 9,1¯¯¯º This would make the character ( ¯¯¯º ) appear in light green with a black
background.Accenting the character ( ¯¯¯º ).

#2.Using color syntax in script design:

When making or changing things in a script it helps to know types of syntax's and what it
is that they exactly do in a script. This seems to be the most confusing part but I'll try
my best to explain it.

Syntax- ( ) This is a stop syntax and will other types of syntax from continuing through-
out the rest of the script or your code.
Syntax- (
) This syntax is used to UNDERLINE text or characters in a script or message &
also makes lettering and characters BOLD.
Syntax- ( , ) Used when adding a SECONDARY or background color.

WARNING NEVER USE TWO (
) syntax in the same line of a script without a STOP..It will
cancel out the first one and make the syntax useless to have in the script.

EXAMPLE:

4/8!4\ 8,8-
1,0G1,14e1,15e1,0k 8,8-
1,8A8,1L1,8E8,1R1,8T8,1!
4/8!4\

In this example the syntax
is underlining/making bold everything from the start of the
script up to the STOP syntax .By doing that in this example it appears in a channels as
a Warning Triangle as in a Hazardous sign. :)

Spacing counts as characters in a script and/or Topic and/or message...spacing is important
in some scripts and coding as well as some messages so that the color codes do not bleed
into each other and they appear clearly and readable in a channel.

8,8- In this part I have a PRIMARY & SECONDARY color, but they are the same???

NOTICE THE SYNTAX ( , ) AFTER THE PRIMARY NUMBER... the secondary number will not work
without the syntax ( , ).Also if you are using a primary and secondary for a NUMBER in a
script.
EXAMPLE: You would like to turn a #1 the color Red for room TOPIC...It would look
like this... #04 1 The Zero was added so that the code RED would work and IRC would
understand that the number 1 was to be in RED.

Making the PRIMARY & SECONDARY the same COLOR CODE number followed by a common keyboard
character will make a solid YELLOW SPACE till the next STOP used in the script.

To make the SOLID COLORED SPACE wider you would have to add multiple characters.. ie we
used ( - ) in this script so to make the spacing wider we could have used more than one - .

Then another color STOP was added so that the color yellow wouldn't bleed off into the msg.

1,0G1,14e1,15e1,0k Now we are starting the msg part.(
) Syntax will UNDERLINE and
make BOLD all letters up to the STOP ( ).The first letter is cap G and it is Black on a
White background and so on up till the next color syntax STOP ( ) used.

Always remember to add the spacing where needed, if your not sure about what it will look
like the temp join a made up room that doesn't exist on the Server and try your idea in
that room for testing. That way ppl don't thing you lost your mind are that your IRC is going
bonkers. :) I usually make a temp room called #testing and try stuff in it.

OK I think that should cover the color aspect of basics. Now for the character design part.

..... 0_0

WARNING all of these where tested on wIRC and fonts size makes a difference of weather
will be seen by others or not.I use the default settings..Font:Verdana Font Style:Regular
Size:8

Like I stated earlier.. this is not a script but was meant to try and help ppl understand
about the fun things that mIRC users can do with their versions/scripts.

First off I started out with some basic things I had saved in a notepad file and was copy
pasting over the years because i was lazy and never turned them into a script. All they
were are smileys, but not just plain smileys....these where in a different code.

I used three types of codes to start out with

'┌∩┐(04◣_04◢)┌∩┐. This when displayed into a channel will show a cool
looking smiley... I call it the F.U. Smiley :)

Now I took out parts of the smiley and began add different things I had saved over time.
new triggers/syntax to them.

1.I took ┌∩┐.

2.And â—¢ also out of the smiley from above.Because both parts separated or copy/pasted
into another testing room made the separate parts of the whole script.

3.â˜
I used different SYNTAX Trigger's I had saved on a notepad file.. God I'm such a GEEK :)

Anyhoo here they are,

Please make sure you get all the code because some of it is hidden... just drag the pointer
and copy paste em into scripts... some can have colors added and some can't,plus using a
STOP could cause it to not work also.

Little bonus I have that could be put in a script as a decoder for some coding script
characters... this syntax will show a code when it is high lighted and that syntax is placed
before the character that you want to DECODE just use the box part and not the up side down
T.It will become hidden if the T is removed so be careful and make sure you only copy paste
and not cut and paste everything.

Hope you guys enjoy this info and have fun and can make some cool looking things for chatting
in channels and for Topic designs...
